Woolworths traded here for 20 years, before moving to a new location in Queensway – when a new shopping centre was built in 1959, as part of Stevenage New Town. This was store 1008 and will be covered in a separate blog post in the future.
Today Tesco Express is in the former Woolworths unit. In the photo you can see the whole parade of shops.
