You say that store 761 (Romford) opened in 1940 and store 762 (Diss) opened in 1939. How can this be? You’re going backwards!

Yes the opening dates do not match the store number order during the war years. So some opened later than others. All dates listed in K Morrison’s book “Woolworth’s : 100 years on the High Street”
