26 Station Road, Swanage, Dorset BH19 1AG
Woolworths opened in Swanage in 1952 in a former garage. You can see it pictured on the left in the below photograph. To save on costs after the war, new Woolworths stores were often opened in converted buildings, rather than being purpose-built.

Swanage is a lovely coastal town in Dorset with a heritage railway, and as such, this Woolworths would have been a seaside store and very busy in tourist season.
Note the wooden doors in the entrance. This store traded right until the end, closing in December 2008.

Today there is a hardware store – look closely at the photo, you can see the Woolworths doors still in use.
