35-37 The Broadway, Debden Estate, Loughton, Essex IG10 3SX
Woolworths opened in Debden Estate in 1953. It was part of a long parade of shops on The Broadway. There were flats above the store that were offered to staff at low rent. Originally a small store, it did so well that it was extended and reopened in 1963.

In 1997/98 Mala Charles was Assistant Manager, and in 2006-2008 Paul Kehoe was Manager. Another former Debden Store Manager was John Ward.
This Woolworths store traded here for 55 years, closing in January 2009. Today you will find The Original Factory Shop in its place.

Lived in Loughton briefly….Knew this store well.
