London Victoria Woolworths – Store 800

19-31 Wilton Road, Victoria, London SW1V 1LN

The 800th Woolworths store opened in London Victoria in September 1953. It opened in Parnell House, next to the Apollo Theatre opposite Victoria Station.

Thanks to Woolworths History & Pictures we know it opened with 11,910 square feet of sales space. It was extended in 1965 to 27,376 square feet. The store frontage was the longest in the chain, at 233 feet long.

This Woolworths traded here for just over 30 years, closing in 1984.

The corner end of the building was until quite recently occupied by Argos.
