Woolworths opened in Nairn in 1953, in an interesting looking building with an ornate facade.

John McKillop was store manager at Nairn Woolworths from around 1992 to 1994. He tells us it was his first appointment as manager, and it was a fab little store, albeit a strange dog leg shape!

Nairn Woolworths closed in December 2008, and a hardware store called Nickel & Dime opened. I like to think the name is a tribute to the original Woolworths Five and Dime stores.
