205 Portsmouth Road, Pennywell, Sunderland, Co. Durham
Woolworths opened in Pennywell in 1953. It opened amongst a curved parade of shops – see the below photos, it is like being transported back in time.

Closing date is unknown, but closed before 1995 and it is not lised on that store list. The whole parade of shops were demolished and today there are flats here. This photo of Portsmouth Road today does resemble the curve of the road.
