52 – 54 Market Street, Chorley, Lancs PR7 2SB
Woolworths opened in Chorley in 1930 on Market Street. The store was built with an Art Deco facade.

They traded from this building for 65 years, before closing in March 1995 in order to move to a new store on Market Walk. This had a new store number of 1193, so will be covered in a future post.
As for the building on Market Street, it is occupied by Argos. Next time you are walking past this store, look up and admire the Woolies Art Deco facade.
