1 Castle Street, Ludlow, Shropshire SY8 1AS
Woolworths opened in Ludlow in 1933 in an existing building. The store traded here all the way to the end in December 2008, but what is special about this store is how the original 1930s shopfront survived, and it is still there today.
This is the mosaic flooring at the entrance with the Diamond W and a close up of the wooden doors. You can see the curve of the windows.

Inside the store, it had Steleonite ceilings, which were supposedly fire-resistant.

Spar took over the unit after Woolworths closed, and amazingly they kept the original shopfront, including the wooden doors and the mosaic floor.
